Hello! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and Black Friday. This morning was the first time I ever went early Black Friday shopping (well, 7 am was early to me) and it was amazing. I just went to the mall, got so many good deals- no shit- and had a ton of fun. I'll definitely go back next year and every year until I die. There is actually a manicure I've done and taken pics of between this one and the last one I posted but I'm lazy so I'll just post that one later. And, because it is now officially the Christmas season, I wanted to post Christmas-y nails. Here is Essie Leading Lady.
Two coats plus top coat. Flash.
Leading Lady is a red jelly polish with small red glitter suspended through it. It was easy to work with, a little gloopy but that was expected, and opaque in two coats. I also only put one coat of Seche Vite over it and it was relatively smooth.
And because I'm home, here is a pic of Bela looking pissed off...
Hello! Nothing special today, just a regular mani in a pretty color. This is Deborah Lippmann Almost Paradise from the Footloose duos last year.
Three coats plus top coat. Flash.
Fun fact: my nails match my dorm walls.
I really love this color, it's obnoxious and muted at the same time and it has a great formula. I actually wore it on Christmas last year under China Glaze Party Hearty.
On a side note, I've been having a lot of cuticle/hangnail emergencies lately. I apologize for the poor retouching on my pinky finger, but I can promise you it's better than looking my booboo right in the face.
Happy Saturday! Today I am super excited to show you a new holiday set from Zoya that you've already seen. It's the Guilty Pleasures trio that includes Raven, Purity, and Gilty, Zoya's new gold flake top coat. I put Gilty over Raven for this manicure and I love it so much that I plan on wearing it over Purity soon.
Raven alone: two coats. Flash.
Two coats Raven, one coat Gilty plus topcoat. Flash.
In order to get the amount of gold flakes in one coat that I did here, I had to put a pretty thick and gloopy coat of Gilty- obviously worth the trouble though. It settles after about 20 min, so wait before putting a topcoat on it to risk the flakes moving around and clumping each other.
Hello again! Yesterday, after looking at my post-hurricane nails, I thought they were beyond repair. Fortunately, a good nubbifying and cuticle clipping later and they're back to their former glory. After having on heavy glitter for the past few days, I decided to go with a nice creme polish. Here is American Apparel Imperial Purple.
Two coats plus top coat. Flash.
Imperial Purple is a dark, blue based purple creme. This is the third American Apparel polish I've tried and I'm officially in love. The formula is near perfect and the wear time is great. I'll definitely be picking up some more!
Happy belated Halloween, everybody! You can probably guess from the timing that it's belated because of the hurricane. I live in lower Manhattan, and my building was evacuated earlier this week, so unfortunately I didn't have my camera to upload pictures and post this manicure. I'm happy I was able to do Halloween nails at all! Even though Halloween was cancelled, these nails still kept me in the Halloween spirit. Here is China Glaze Fortune Teller.
One coat black, two coats Fortune Teller, plus top coat. Flash.
Fortune Teller (as you probably know) is a black jelly with different sized orange glitter. I had always thought it was really rare and hard to find, but I picked it up on eBay for about $7. Score!
I really wanted to mattify this after wearing it glossy, but it was chipped and gross by the time I was allowed back in my dorm (and reunited with my collection) today. I'm going to remove the remains shortly after posting this.
I have family on Long Island and Staten Island and fortunately everyone is fine. I hope you all on the East Coast stayed safe during the hurricane and my heart goes out to those that suffered a loss.
